About Us

Empowering Communities for Change

At Connect Outdoors, we use the power of nature and outdoor experiences to support healthier lives, develop stronger communities, and improve wellbeing for people of all ages across the Isle of Man. Through guided outdoor activities, mentoring, nature-based therapeutic experiences, and accredited outdoor Education, we help children, young people, and adults build confidence, resilience, connection, and a sense of belonging. We use the natural environment not just as a backdrop, but as a classroom, delivering recognised qualifications and meaningful learning experiences rooted in the world outside.

We believe the Isle of Man's natural environment is one of its greatest assets for improving physical and mental health. By developing social prescribing pathways, we work alongside health and community services to use nature, movement, and outdoor connection as part of both preventative healthcare and ongoing support. Our programmes are designed to help prevent people from becoming unwell, as well as supporting those already experiencing social, emotional, or health-related challenges.

Through meaningful experiences in nature, participants are encouraged to reconnect with themselves, others, and the world around them. Our work promotes personal growth, emotional health, practical life skills, and positive social connection, while fostering a deeper respect for the environment.

As a UNESCO Biosphere Partner, our commitment to environmental responsibility is both a practical and a principled one. From conservation activities and volunteering to the teaching of Leave No Trace principles, we want people to feel empowered to care for the natural spaces they enjoy and to recognise the vital relationship between healthy people and a healthy planet.
