International Men’s Day celebrates the positive value men bring to the world, their families and their communities. This year, Connect Outdoors is celebrating the roles men play across the Isle of Man as dads, grandads, sons, brothers, partners, friends, neighbours, colleagues and volunteers, while also highlighting men’s health and wellbeing.

Our free International Men’s Day event is run by Connect Outdoors and supported by Appleby at the Venture Centre in Maughold. It is a chance for men to put day-to-day responsibilities to one side for a while, try something different and connect with other men.

What’s happening

• 9:30–11:30 — Breathwork, ice bath & sauna
• 9:30–12:00 — Maughold Head walk (bus leaves 9:15)
• 10:00–12:00 — High ropes course & target sports
• 10:00–11:00 — Mindfulness
• 10:30–11:30 — Archery
• 11:30–12:30 — Ice bath & sauna
• 11:45–12:30 — Yoga
• 12:30–1:30 — Free lunch
• 1:30–3:30 — Target sports, dads & sons session
• 1:30–3:30 — Bushcraft, cooking & hammocks
• 1:30–3:00 — Ice bath & sauna
• 1:30–3:30 — Maughold Head walk, dads & sons session (bus leaves 1:15)
• 2:30–3:30 — 9D Breathwork
• 3:45–4:30 — Drumming around the fireplace

All day there will also be a chess room and creative leather corner, rapid tapping sessions, massage therapists and free haircuts.

New for this year: dads and sons

For the first time, some sessions are open to dads and their sons. Take on target sports together or join the Maughold Head walk and make time for an experience you can share.

Whether you are a dad, grandad, uncle or stepdad, bring your lad along and share the adventure.

Come for as much as suits you

You are welcome to join for the full day, half a day or just one workshop. All workshops and activities are free.
